Klappvisier Bascinet
This helmet style was an early form of closed-face bascinet. It was intended to be a lighter, closer-fitting
alternative to the greathelm. The visor was both moveable and removeable, via a turning lock/hinge
combination.
Shown below with optional linen aventail, vervelles, and padded linen liner. Additionally, the visor has
been made a bit extra-large, so that it would also be SCA list-legal.
The visor has been pierced with a starburst pattern and a cross motif.
