Japanese Kabuto
Momonari (Peach-Shaped) Style
Edo Period
(This page will be replaced soon with updated information. Please check back.)
There are several possible variations of this helmet type. The example shown has
a barred menpo that is removeable via a hitch pin/spring snap arrangement, a five-lame shikoro
(skirt) and three-lame nodawa (neck defense), and is pierced for lacing. This particular
helmet was left with a 60 grit finish so that it could be powder coated as shown in a semi-gloss black.
Several other options are available, including full and partial menpo (face masks) and
fukigayeshi (temple wings).
