Italian Mitten Gauntlets
Mid-15th C
These are based closely on gauntlets from the Missaglia workshop that were formerly part of the
Schloss Churburg collection.
The pair shown were made from hot-rolled mild steel and left "rough from the hammer" at the
request of the client. They have been temporarily assembled with machine screws instead of rivets.
The small holes around the perimeter of the plates are for attaching the gloves.
